>A origem do churrasco

Os nativos das Américas usavam a palavra "barbacoa" para o método de assar grandes pedaços de carne lentamente ao ar livre. Os indígenas Guarani faziam uma fogueira sobre pedras e uma grelha de madeira e assavam a carne ao ar livre durante horas.


>A cultura do Gaúcho

Churrasco

No Sul do Brasil o churrasco faz parte da cultura do gaúcho. Os Gaúchos compartilham costumes de tomar o chimarrão (erva-mate), danças inspiradas nas danças uruguaias e também compartilham alguns dialetos como o "Portunhol". Cidades que fazem fronteira com Uruguai e Argentina utilizam esse dialeto há anos para se comunicar com os vizinhos.

Churrasco

A Argentina, o Uruguai e o Sul do Brasil compartilham a mesma cultura dos gaúchos de assar grandes pedaços de carne ao ar livre. Barbecue na Argentina é chamado de "asado" e no Uruguai é conhecido como "parrilla". No Brasil é chamado de "churrasco".

Churrasco

The origin of barbecue

Natives of the Americas used the word "barbacoa" for the method of roasting large pieces of meat slowly in the open air. The Guarani indigenous people built a fire on stones and a wooden grill and roasted the meat in the open air for hours.


Gaucho culture

Churrasco

In the south of Brazil, barbecue is part of the Gaucho culture. The gauchos put together fantasies of drinking chimarrão (yerba mate), dances inspired by Uruguayan dances and also add some dialects such as "Portunhol". Cities that border Uruguay and Argentina have used this dialect for years to communicate with their neighbors.

Churrasco

Argentina, Uruguay and southern Brazil share the same Gaucho culture about roasting large pieces of meat outdoors. In Argentina, barbecue is called "asado" and in Uruguay is called "parrilla". In Brazil it is called "churrasco".
