MESMO, ISSO MESMO, ELA MESMA, A SI MESMO, MESMO ASSIM??? - Você já ouviu um brasileiro usar essas expressões antes?
MESMO pode ser um advérbio, um substantivo ou uma conjunção. Essa palavra pode ter 5 significados diferentes e muitas vezes usamos "MESMO" somente como uma expressão para dar ênfase ao que estamos falando.

1. O MESMO as THE SAME - é usado para comparações e é sinônimo de IGUAL
A) Nós temos O MESMO nome - We have the same name
B) Ele tem O MESMO trabalho há 6 anos - He had the same job for 6 years
C) A situação econômica ainda é A MESMA do ano passado - The economic situation is still the same as last year
D) As crianças estão usando AS MESMAS roupas há 3 dias - The kids have been wearing the same clothes for 3 days

3. verbo + MESMO - para enfatizar uma ação, é sinônimo de "realmente" ou "really"

C) - Não acredito! Isso ACONTECEU MESMO? - I don't believe! Did this really happen?
OBS: não ocorre variação de gênero, pois sempre aparece depois de um verbo.
4. "ISSO MESMO!" - é uma expressão para concordar: "that's' right!"

A: - A imigração é por aqui? - Is immigration this way?

OBS: não ocorre variação de gênero, pois funciona como uma expressão.
5. MESMO as an adverb - can be transleted as "even" or "still"
A) A noiva decidiu entrar no casamento MESMO com a chuva caindo - The bride decided to enter the wedding even with the rain falling
